I got lost on purpose-adjacent terms: I knew roughly where the sea was and decided that was enough navigation for one day.

The alley I chose for its bougainvillea ended at a tiny market — four stalls, one of them a pyramid of oranges, one of them frying something that made the whole street lean in. A shared table appeared. Lunch happened to me rather than the other way around.
